Easter 2013

Tulips in gorgeous crocheted pot

Happy Easter greetings to you!

Egg branch on the stairs at Mum's

We went to my Mum's house for a visit yesterday (which was probably more fun for me than for her as I tend to wander around her house looking at her amazing handmade things and interrogating her how she made them).

Embroidered egg

Mum has decorated her home for Spring in the most beautiful and cheerful way - every room was sprinkled with seasonal joy, I found it very uplifting.

Don't those forsythia branches look awesome as an egg tree?  I'm definitely pinching that idea for next year!

Beautiful forsythia branch tree with the sun shining through

We caught up with news, decorated eggs and generally had a giggly time.

Decorating eggs 2013

Now we're home and our traditional Easter Sunday roast dinner is in the oven. The sun is shining, the snow is slowly melting, chocolate eggs have been opened, Doctor Who has been watched, clocks have been changed (hello British Summer Time!) and I'm looking forward to a relaxing evening before birthday preparations begin.

Family eggs

I'm going to be taking a little break from posting this week as I spend some time with Cameron.  The yarn shop is open as usual if you fancy purchasing some lovely yarn.  In the meantime, I wish you a wonderful Easter and I will see you back here in just over a week.

P.S. the winner of Breakfast for Dinner has been announced - did you win?

  1. Happy Easter to you! You are right your mum's place looks so beautiful and uplifting.

Hope the birthday preparations go well and I also had a peek at your knitting, so cheery. We've been lucky at this end, we actually managed some gardening time yesterday, it was good for the soul. I also love the prairie books, they are grounding and heart warming to read.

    A hug to you

    San xx

  6. Sounds like you had a full and wonderful day.
I'm still waiting for forsythia (and anything really) to bloom. In Canada we have already changed our clocks, now if only spring would get here in earnest.
