Can you believe that July is here already? Time for another Home Baked Challenge!
This month the theme is local food - food made with ingredients from as close to your home as possible! That could be foods you've bought with eating locally in mind, which is thankfully getting easier and easier - even at the big chain supermarkets. The farmers markets should be extremely exciting to visit at this time of year as so many crops come into season. If you grow your own then it will be even simpler!

If you're new to the challenge, here's how to join in:
1. Read about the theme and get yourself a blog badge from the sidebar (if you want).
2. Make food on the theme - it doesn't have to be baked, you can use any method you like. As long as your entry is edible and homemade, you can enter it.
3. Take a photo of your entry.
4. Upload your photograph and a description to the flickr group, before the deadline to make it fair for everyone. If you aren't on flickr you can email your photo and description (as you want it to appear) to me at homebakedonline at gmail dot com and I will upload it for you.
Anyone can enter, including readers outside the UK and you can have more than one entry per household, so if you all want to do something different, then you can!
If you have anymore questions - pop them in the comments section and I'll answer as soon as I can.
The deadline for entries is Sunday 25th July at midnight. That gives you three whole weeks to come up with something and submit it - you don't have to wait until the end of the challenge to upload your entry.
As I said at the end of last months challenge - because the numbers have been dwindling, this may be the last Home Baked Challenge if there isn't sufficient interest to keep it going. If you're enjoying them Home Baked Challenge or you have been meaning to enter but haven't got around to it yet and want it to continue then help me out a bit by spreading the word - twitter, facebook, blog etc to your hearts content! If you have been lurking, now is the time to jump in and have a go!
So, who's up for joining me in concentrating on reducing food miles, getting creative in the kitchen and a bit of healthy competition for the chance to win a small prize and winners blog badge?

Lovely! I'll have to see what is coming into season in the garden, we totally blitzed our pea crop yesterday.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! I just stumbled across your blog via Soulemama (I've found so many wonderfu blogs that way...) I made some wild blackberry cobbler this month that would fit in well with this challenge...:o)
ReplyDeleteWelcome Jen - lovely to have you here :o)
ReplyDeleteWild blackberry cobbler sounds delicious!
The gooseberries called to me! Entry submitted well in time this month, am I in danger of becoming organised? :)
ReplyDeleteAlso Hannah, thank you once again for the April prize. I am now the proud owner of a silicone oven mitt which will always remind me of Home Baked.
