Home Baked Challenge Theme: April

Welcome to the Home Baked Challenge for April!

There was a little bit of confusion last month about how to submit to the challenge. Here's what you need to do if you're taking part:

1. Read about the theme and get yourself a blog badge from the sidebar (if you want).
2. Make food on the theme - it doesn't have to be baked, you can use any method you like. As long as your entry is edible and homemade, you can enter it.
3. Take a photo of your entry.
4. Upload your photograph and a description to the flickr group, before the deadline to make it fair for everyone. If you aren't on flickr you can email your photo and description (as you want it to appear) to me at homebakedonline at gmail dot com and I will upload it for you.

Anyone can enter, including readers outside the UK and you can have more than one entry per household, so if you all want to do something different, then you can!

I haven't approached anyone to be a guest judge this time. Instead, everyone who enters gets to vote for their top 3 entries which will be combined to find the winner. I'll give details of how to vote when the deadline expires.

If you have anymore questions - pop them in the comments section and I'll answer as soon as I can.

The theme this month, inspired by the season, is Spring Greens!

That doesn't mean you have to make something with vegetables - the inspiration for this is more about celebrating the abundance of green colour around us in Spring.

Perhaps you want to try green smoothies, pasta verde from scratch, make something with foraged Spring ingredients or go wild with green food colourings - I think the colour theme leaves a wide range of options to get your creative juices flowing!

The deadline for entries is Tuesday the 27th April at midnight. That gives you three whole weeks to come up with something and submit it.

Good luck! I can't wait to see your entries.

  1. A couple of years ago my youngest announced she would never eat anything green again. LOL! So here's my challenge to make something green and yummy enough for her to eat. Will have to put my mind to eat after the hols. Hx
