Blogging from a phone

We arrived safely at the new house and are in a bubble of an adjustment period.  It's almost funny how it takes a month to pack up a house but the majority of the unpacking occurs within a matter of days - how is that possible?!

We wont be connected to the Internet at home for a little while longer so I'm attempting to blog from my phone - I hope it looks ok?

People keep asking how the move went and I have to say that it was pretty smooth. I paid the big bucks for a professional removals company and it was worth every penny for the stress and hassle that it saved (and it tickled me that one of the removals men was named Kale!).
The furniture that I was sure wouldn't fit was inside before I noticed that it was off the van. The washing machine was plumbed in before the end of the day. Clean up at the old house was quick and easy so there wasn't much to-ing and fro-ing.

There are some teething troubles with the new house but the landlady has been quick to react which is a wonderful change from the last one.
Cameron worked out the new school bus route like a pro - I'm in awe of his bravery with it.
Our poor kitty, Socks, is having the hardest time of all of us adjusting but I'm sure he will be fine once he can go outside.

It's kind of fun setting up home all over again in a new place and this one feels so much more sophisticated.  I keep catching myself thinking how lucky we are that we get to live here.
I have so much to show you but you'll have to wait a little longer as it's not quite at a photogenic stage, yet.

I'll post another update in a week or so and then I can get back to normal when I've sufficiently worshiped the new broadband router, haha!

In the meantime I can pick up emails on my phone so my shop is open as usual. There's a little post office a hop skip and a jump from here which thrills me more than it possibly should!

What's new with you? Have I missed anything while I've been preoccupied with boxes?
Tell me about your Halloween and bonfire night plans so we can live vicariously through the season!

  5. So pleased to read that all went well. Considering you have only just moved in, it is looking pretty cosy.

We have carved a pumpkin so a cheery face greets me every time I open the fridge door! Apparently keeping them in the fridge overnight, slows down the decaying process, according to Martha Stewart! The pumpkin flesh has been cooked and I'm hoping to make pumpkin pancakes, pumpkin bread and our yearly tradition of pumpkin pie.

    Have a good week

    1. I think I'm giddy with shock that we're in and it went so smoothly! I'm still on edge, waiting for something to go dramatically wrong. Think it was a lot to take on after all the yarndale excitement.
