The garden is starting to look like a garden, Cameron has got stuck into a pet project and a stack of library books to occupy himself, we're catching up with friends and family that we don't get to see very often now that he's in school and our day to day routine is that little bit more relaxed.
Friday was spent with friends and watching the opening ceremony of the Olympics.
I spent all of Saturday working in the garden. I plugged myself into my iPod and lost myself in my thoughts as I got on with the work, enjoying the sun on my back and, of course, standing back to admire my efforts at the end of the day.
Sunday, I got busy in the kitchen making vegetable lasagne using up bits and bobs of small harvests around the garden and gooseberry fool (I used this Nigel Slater Classic Gooseberry Fool recipe) with gooseberries gifted by a friend.
I also whipped up the remaining double cream leftover from the fool and mixed it with the rest of my strawberry curd to make the best strawberry ice-cream I have ever tasted!

In the midst of it all I dried copious amounts of washing on the line which is one of the great bonuses of Summer, don't you think?
Simple, Summery, Sumptuous.
Wishing you a wonderful week.
