Snapshots of the wonder of ordinary

Mostly when I don't have a particular thing to share I don't write anything in this space - hence the silent gaps here and there.  Oftentimes, I write something and don't ever bother publishing it because it seems like nothing you would be interested in (or I think better of it after waiting and then revisiting).

I read an article recently about whether or not you would read your own blog and it got me thinking about the blogs that I visit.  I subscribe to a ridiculous number of blogs but have only a handful that I read on a daily/regular basis and that list of favourites is mostly blogs that are more like a morning update - like a conversation that continues through the days, months and years where there is no need for introductions, bells, whistles, spins, climaxes or finales.  Simple, beautiful and nourishing. No drama, no issues, no competing, no self appointed experts.  These are the kinds of blogs I enjoy best.

What if I shared a little something and nothing here instead of the gaps? The beauty of my day, the interesting links I come across, the creative things I often do but don't share.  What if I shared with you what I like to see from others - like a postcard from my days. Snap shots of the wonder of ordinary.

Cheerful Daffs

This morning I tinkered with the RAW settings on my camera and captured the first of the daffodils to bloom.  During the quiet of the morning, as I worked out how to upload and process the images, gentle ripping sounds broke the silence as the other flowers burst open to greet the sunlight with their dazzling colours.
Weekend breakfast is on my mind as school mornings are so rushed. I'm considering the Berry & Buttermilk Cake from Apples for Jam or perhaps something from my Breakfast Ideas folder on Pinterest.

knitted dish scrubbie

Yesterday's warm weather turned my mind to Spring cleaning.  I have been (procrasti)knitting these cheerful little Two Tone Tawashi (Ravelry Link) scrubbies for the purpose - such a great way to use up odds and ends of yarn in a useful way.

It's harder than it looks to write about nothing much!
Wishing you a wonderful weekend.
